“Most people have powerful connections. Very few people have harnessed the power of their connections.” – Jeffrey Gitomer
Much of our culture is relationally anemic! Put another way we are lacking vitality and health relationally! As the saying goes, “We are a mile wide and an inch deep.” On the outside we appear to be well-adjusted social animals, but inwardly many of us are gripped with doubt and fear. To some degree it’s warranted, considering our current economics.
But as healthy relationships go (being connected with wise people), so goes the quality of our life. And as unhealthy relationships go (being isolated from wise people) so goes the lack of quality in our lives.
As the years pass, there seems to be a domino effect caused by the isolation of divorce, depression, anxiety disorders, physical maladies, job loss, and financial troubles. Culturally, this trend toward isolation increases with age unless you choose to stop it.
Unless you are a relational giant you need more time with people, quality people. So, who is one person you can think of right now that you need to connect with over breakfast or lunch? Make the call or send that message today. The quality of your life depends on it.
